Almost all of us take photos, Travel to exotic places and meet local people, for us it can enrich our lives. We go back home with pictures to show to everyone and re-living the moment. But how about the people whom we met? How will they remember us that once upon a time, we stepped our foot in their door step.

Spent few years traveling extensively around the Philippines. The country is marvelous in many ways. As my photography grows, I found myself being fascinated with our local tribes, history and culture. Took some images and these images was my key to where I am now – a Photo journalist.
Did I say “took” some images? Yes that’s what we all do now. We love to meet people specially when we travel and meet locals to have a sneak peek of their ways and experience at least an atom of their life, we take pictures, we take endless selfies. We learn how to appreciate what we have by them showing what their life is, a life of not having everything but yet willing to give what they have. But do we really make a difference to them? Do we leave mark on their door steps? Do we have something to leave to them so you can say” I was here”.
During my past travels, I’m longing share something to them, longing to know more and connect. That’s why this project came up.
In partnership with Kodak Photo Printer Philippines, we believe how images can bring joy in happiness to someone. Nowadays where technology reaches almost everywhere, we will embark to a journey to some remote places looking to find people who haven’t seen themselves in a photograph, at first I was skeptical on the mission to look for these people because it’s now the 20th century. But I was lucky enough to find some soul who’s waiting to see their “FIRST PHOTOGRAPH”
In few weeks, will show you more up close and in details their stories and my experience along with them. So watch this space.
She waited patiently. Well, somewhat patiently. Princess is the type of girl who sets her mind to something and sets out to make it happen. Her career was built–and remains driven–by her vivacious personality, but her love life floated just out of reach, like an unruly dandelion in a patch of green grass. But there was one thing she was certain of: under no terms did she want to meet someone online.
Danny was smitten by her smile and her personality even they're thousand miles away, He knew she was the one.
Danny and Princess decided to video call after their online introduction and in that moment, sparks flew across continents. Hours of conversations and hundreds of texts later, Princess waited at the Manila international airport for Danny to deplane.
Standing nervously and holding her hands, Princess smiled when Danny arrived she almost wanted to shout " I’ve been waiting forever for you!”
Princess and Danny, you are magical. There are no other ways around it. Your love is like the moon, keeping those around you happily in your orbit. You are magnetic and make people around you want to get even closer. Thank you for the honor of documenting your first day as husband and wife. I hope you continue to foster dandelions in your life because it keeps things beautifully unpredictable. Much Love and Appreciation… Fox*
Reflection is a powerful and complex thing. If you look up the word in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, you’ll find nine definitions for it, some with multiple parts, helping to show just how layered the concept is. It can be an image reproduced in a mirror, a thought or idea that comes through careful meditation, or one of the many other definitions.
And as such, Whilst in Baler Aurora instead of soaking myself in the water, I slowed down, Just listened, watched and breath. Reflect on the past years and what I have become from the very first day I held my camera, the days when I didn't even know what I was doing, to the day I took control of my life. God has given me so much blessings, and I also had failures, yes these failures were blessings. If not with these challenges, I may not be a resilient as I am now.
Reflecting made me realized that we always look for the better version of ourselves. But most of the times we look at others " better " life and compare it to ours, and this leads us to feel bad about what already have, we feel we are not enough. Sometimes we just have to look at a different perspective to see our blessings. We can only be the better version of ourselves if we can only learn to see the "greatness" that we already acquire within us.
t's been raining for months and I must admit this gives me some set back on photography. David Barber a good friend of mine gave me this really nice gift - a basic studio set up, so I thought why not give it a go and set up a studio in my spare room.
But I'm tired of normal beauty shots, something in the corner of weird brain wanting to shoot something rather spooky, Whilst doing a research on what theme to shoot, I was also browsing online to see if there's an available "Suicide Squad" free to watch online. Yup you know what happened next - it became my inspiration.
Just before we started, I already have images on my mind, already have a thought on how the post editing workflow would be. The fun side of pre-visualizing images just before you shoot is seeing it come to life whilst on the post.
For those of you who wanted to know how I did this composites and effects, Please visit my article at https://www.clickasnap.com/
The images on the left are SOOC ( straight out of the camera), Right are the edited version using Lightroom to achieve the color tone I want and import to Photoshop for brush tool editing and composite.
I added a layer mask to separate the subject from the background. Normally I will shoot the background separately and merge with the subject, but tried this option to mask the subject to make life easier at the same time the background and subject has the same color tone. Using new layer, used the brush tool ( smoke preset) to and recolor to create a new background.
These images might look hard to achieve on photoshop, but really I just used basic editing, for those who already have a photoshop background you may find it really easy :). How to achieve Fire effects is not yet included on my tutorial for it takes a bit of time to create, but if you would like to know, feel free to comment below.
