Happy Friday!!
On my previous post I talked about the importance of details on Engagement and wedding session shoots, and I mentioned that if I feel that the couple needs help on coming up with props and details after I gave my suggestions, I do offer help on coming up with their own personalized details, this weekend I'm so exited that be I'll shooting with amazing couple that I think are modern and simple, So we came up with some rustic details that suits their personality!I made them a rustic inspired bouquet And I would love to share how I made it. Materials: 1.Scissors 2.Glue gun 3.soft wires( flower wire) 4.creep paper ( green ) 5.BBQ sticks 6.fine abaca or banana threads ( sinamay ) 7.Dried corn peels 8.rubber band 9.rope made of Abaca or plant fibers 1. Cut the fine abaca or banana threads about 4inch high by 20inch wide, then fold the top ( 1/4 inch). 2.Roll the folded fiber ( not so tight) so you can make an opening. 3.Secure and tie the rolls with flower wire or soft wire. 4.Use the BBQ sticks to serve as a stem, by inserting the pointed part on the bottom of the rolls! just like you are making some BBQ :) 5.Using the green creep paper, Cover the BBQ stick to make it look like a stem, then VIOLA! you have yourself a rustic flower!do step 1. to 5. till you reach around 15-20 pieces of flower, then you may hold them all together and tie it using a rubber band. 6.Cover all the stem using the plant fiber rope ( abaca rope),till it's half covered, to have that more rustic look! 7.For the final touch, now this is optional, I added this dried corn peel to have a more natural rustic appealing set up!by sticking it on the sides. The FINAL LOOK!!! And I think it's fabulous! Hope this helps at least one person...if not, I'm still glad I wrote it out because I'm thankful for my couples...and their willingness to share their ideas.
